Recipe Provided By the California Avocado Commission from a consumer submission
A delicious sandwich! The flavor of all of the ingredients blend so well together in your mouth!! Hope you enjoy my creation which started off as a childhood favorite!
Ingredients
-
0.000
Red Onion Slices (if red onion is too strong you can substitute a milder onion)
-
0.000
Provolone or Mozerella Cheese
-
0.000
Fresh Avocado Slices
-
0.000
Roma Tomato Slices
-
0.000
Texas Toast, Butter
-
0.000
Salt & Pepper to taste
Instructions
- This sandwich is very quick and easy to make. Take two slices of Texas Toast (or a thick bread if you can not find Texas Toast- a bread that can handle all of the ingredients without falling apart), and layer the tomato slices, onion slices, cheese and avocado in any order that you like and then season with salt and pepper to taste. You cook this sandwich the same way that you would cook a grilled cheese sandwich. Heat a pan to med/ med-high heat, add butter to the pan and melt your sandwich!! That is all there is to this one. Enjoy!!!
*Large avocados are recommended for this recipe. A large avocado averages about 8 ounces. If using smaller or larger size avocados adjust the quantity accordingly.
