Stages of Ripe
Use this guide as a reference when ordering California Avocados. It is available to all avocado growers, handlers and retailers, and eliminates the guesswork in avocado sales transactions by creating a uniform standard for defining each of the five stages of ripeness. The ripe stages outlined in this guide were developed and are used by the major California Avocado packers/shippers to eliminate the guess work and ensure that everyone is using the same standards when determining the ripe stages.
